Technology has opened up learning for every family, but it has also brought a challenge into nearly every home: mobile addiction. When video lessons live on a phone, children get the most distracting device in the house every time they sit down to study.
What mobile overuse does to study time
- Broken focus. Each notification pulls attention away, and getting back into a topic takes time.
- Hidden screen time. "Studying on the phone" often turns into games and short videos, and parents cannot easily tell the difference.
- Late nights and strained eyes. Small screens held close, often in bed, affect sleep and eyesight.
A family-friendly answer: learn on the TV
The VHM TV app puts recorded lessons, notes and quizzes on the family Android TV. It shows VHM Academy learning content only, so there is nothing else to tap.
How it works at home
- Open the VHM TV app. A code and QR appear on the screen.
- The parent scans it from the VHM Academy app and chooses the child.
- The child's own courses appear, in their class and medium, with "continue watching" at the top.
- Quizzes are answered with the remote. Results appear on the parent's phone.
Built-in controls for parents
- Daily time limit for the TV, set per family.
- Progress for each child: lessons finished, quiz scores and study streaks.
- Sign out any TV from the app whenever you want.
Better for students and parents
Students focus better without the pull of notifications. Parents know exactly what their child is watching and how much they are learning. And the phone goes back to being a phone.
